The Suchman Companies were founded by Clifford Suchman in 1961 when he saw a future for development on Kendall Drive heading west. Cliff made his vision a reality and he then passed his vision and the company to his son Larry who is now the CEO of our organization.
Suchman Real Estate Group is a full service commercial real estate brokerage, acquisition, and development company specialized in land, shopping centers and other income producing properties. SRG offers a wide range of services to its clients, who benefit from the company’s longstanding market knowledge and expertise as a broker, owner and developer with the experience to develop land or repurpose properties
Our mission
In 1961, Clifford Suchman and his friend Jack Pyms founded Pyms-Suchman Real Estate Co. Cliff, a University of Florida graduate and Keyes Company scholarship recipient, quickly became a pioneer in the emerging Dadeland and Kendall areas of Miami. Early in his career, he chose to work near Dadeland because he recognized its tremendous potential — a decision that shaped the next five decades of growth in South Dade.
Over the years, Cliff helped transform the region by buying, selling, and brokering thousands of acres, and developing apartments, warehouses, and shopping centers. Pyms-Suchman grew into one of the largest single-office brokerages in South Dade.
In 1969, Cliff partnered with his brother-in-law Martin Shane to launch Shane-Suchman Real Estate Co., focusing on commercial properties. His son Larry joined in 1983, and in 1992, Cliff and Larry formed Suchman Retail Group, specializing in commercial land, shopping center leasing and management, development, and retail tenant representation.
Today, Suchman Real Estate Group is recognized throughout South Florida for its long-standing expertise, innovation, and commitment to shaping the future of the region.
Our History
In 1961, Clifford Suchman and his friend Jack Pyms founded Pyms-Suchman Real Estate Co. Cliff, a University of Florida graduate and Keyes Company scholarship recipient, quickly became a visionary in what we now know as the Dadeland and Kendall areas of Miami.
When Cliff started at the Keyes Company, he was given the choice between working in the Homestead office or the Miami Beach office. He chose Homestead because it was closer to the Dadeland-Kendall corridor, which he believed had the most potential for growth. Shortly after, a desk opened at the Dadeland office — and Cliff said he “skipped all the way home,” knowing he was exactly where he needed to be.
Over the next 50 years, Cliff helped shape the South Dade region. He bought, sold, brokered, and syndicated thousands of acres, and developed apartments, warehouses, and shopping centers. Pyms-Suchman Real Estate Co. eventually became one of the largest single-office brokerage firms in South Dade.
In 1969, Cliff partnered with his brother-in-law Martin Shane to launch Shane-Suchman Real Estate Co., focusing exclusively on commercial properties. In 1983, Cliff’s son Larry joined the business after earning a degree in real estate and finance. By 1992, Cliff and Larry formed Suchman Retail Group, specializing in commercial land, shopping center leasing and management, development, and retail tenant representation.
Today, Suchman Real Estate Group is well-known and respected throughout South Florida for its creativity, experience, and forward-thinking vision.
