This is the original site of the first Pyms-Suchman Real Estate Company Office, opened in 1961, across from the original Shorty’s BBQ. Cliff Suchman and Jack Pyms ultimately purchased the adjoining Quick Check Grocery Store and renovated it. This is where the Pyms-Suchman and Shane-Suchman HQs were located for over 20 years.

The best part was, Shorty’s needed extra parking, so we leased them spaces for $400 per month plus “all the Shorty’s BBQ we could eat!” It was one of our best real estate deals to date.

In 1990, we re-zoned and site planned the property for Borders Books and City Furniture and moved our offices to South Miami. Borders has since been converted to Trader Joe’s and City Furniture has since become a leading furniture powerhouse in Florida.
